Telematics

IDON Technologies has been involved in the development of telecommunications standards, since the introduction of the early Videotex and Teletext systems in the late 1970's. These systems were public access information systems that pre-dated the Internet. IDON Technologies has worked with many companies and organizations in Canada, the United States, and worldwide on public access information systems. These include:

C D O'Brien, the president of IDON Technologies is currently the chair of the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC/SC24) on Computer Graphics and Image Processing which is responsible for the maintenance of the NAPLPS Videotex standard and other standards related to computer graphics. Mr. O'Brien is also a member of the Standards Council of Canada TCIT national committee on Information Technology.
